VOJISLAVA ILIĆA

More about project

We were presented with the concept of a new apartment with clearly defined goals and new tasks for our team.
Although the tasks were already well known to us, we did not underestimate the project before us for a single moment.
According to the wishes of the client (to be gender-conscious 😊), who hired us, the goal was to create the perfect bachelorette apartment.

The original 50 m2 apartment, located on Vojislava Ilića Street, nestled right on the border of Vračar and Zvezdara, was another in a series of completely reconstructed properties in the previous period.
The first situation we encountered during the demolition and raising of the
floor in the apartment was the significantly higher level of the kitchen and dining area compared to the rest of the apartment. After removing the parquet and tiles in that area, it was necessary to break and remove the old screed down to the concrete slab to align the floor height as much as possible with the living room.
Since the owner's wish and idea was to have parquet in the kitchen area as well, we immediately proceeded with leveling that part of the floor and preparing it for future flooring work.
The project task was to install oak parquet with borders along the edges throughout the entire apartment.
As they say in the slang - "just like on Pinterest." 😊 The borders, with their design and arrangement, turned the parquet into a small, unique work of art, giving a classic floor an artistic expression and enhancing the apartment's aesthetics.
Certainly, a decorative detail that, with the chosen arrangement, also provided the effect of visually enlarging the space.
The old, worn-out joinery throughout the apartment was replaced, as well as new MDF doors with grooves chosen by the owner.
Drywall was used to cover heating pipes in the bathroom, as well as the ceiling drainage pipe, along with the built-in toilet tank.
Additionally, one of the entrance openings was modified using gypsum boards on a metal substructure to achieve uniformity of all arched openings in the apartment.

As part of the standard adaptation works, complete plumbing and sewage works were carried out, as well as electrical works.
The transformation of the bathroom before and after through various phases of the renovation can be seen in the bathroom reconstruction video.
As part of the electrical works, we also decided to replace the main power cable from the meter to the apartment, as the old cable had an extremely small cross-section.
This is not an uncommon situation, especially in older post-war buildings, which we have encountered and successfully solved many times before.
Simply put, the old original installation was not designed for today's household electricity consumption, and we also had the additional task of replacing a classic water heater with a much more powerful instantaneous one. At the investor's request, we also removed one heating unit to make space for a larger kitchen along the entire wall.
After the tiling and painting works were completed, the new bachelorette apartment shone in all its glory. 😊
The realization and transformation of the property before and after, through different phases of the renovation, can be seen in the apartment reconstruction video.
The apartment was completed within the agreed 60-day deadline, within the planned budget, and handed over to its new owner for use and enjoyment. 😊 The work was carried out, as always, on a "turnkey" basis.
