Behind the scenes
Execution exactly like the render :)
When we entered this project in Banovo Brdo, we already had a clear architectural vision and renders that guided us throughout the entire process. The biggest challenge, and at the same time the biggest victory, was that the final result came out identical to the images, down to the last detail. The floor plan itself required serious changes: we completely removed the old kitchen and moved its position into the living room zone.
That move gave us space for an extra bedroom, completely changing the apartment's functionality. In that new room, right by the transition toward the terrace, we kept a striking vertical radiator instead of the old cast-iron one, while in the rest of the apartment we carefully concealed all other radiator pipes inside the walls so they would remain invisible.
After demolishing the storage room to enlarge the hallway and make space for a built-in wardrobe, we were faced with a situation involving vertical district-heating pipes. Those vertical heating pipes had originally been positioned along the storage partition wall, so once the wall was removed they were left standing in the middle of the newly expanded hallway. We therefore had to relocate them to the first available side wall. Later, they were enclosed, together with the water heater, inside custom-made built-in cabinetry.
To further open up the space and bring more light inside, we shortened and demolished the parapet of the old kitchen, as well as the outer terrace wall, which we later enclosed.
That greenery view is now part of everyday life. Of course, we did not stop there. All ceilings were lowered, lighting cascades with built-in illumination were created to bring the necessary warmth, and the entire joinery and electrical installation were replaced. Because the client requested an instantaneous water heater, we upgraded the supply cable all the way to the apartment with a larger cross-section cable directly from the meter, ensuring flawless operation under all conditions.
The bathroom is a story of its own. We hid an unattractive neighboring drainage pipe by lowering the ceiling and later installing built-in lighting within it, while in the shower area we created a niche from moisture-resistant gypsum board with integrated lighting, giving the space a sense of exclusivity. You can see how we handled the bathroom transformation before and after in the video below:
The floors throughout the apartment were finished in ceramic with a mosaic selected by the investor, and every edge was precisely mitered. In the end, together with the full painting and finishing works, everything came together into a whole that leaves a lasting impression. The investor is extremely satisfied, the deadlines were respected as always, and we are proud that we turned a project on paper into a home that looks exactly like the render.
